Facebppl Experiment
As more and more people start using Macs, I forsee an increasing # of people accidentally typing in things incorrectly due to the keyboard differences. To track this, I’m going to use Facebppl as a source of data on commonly misstyped terms. Facebppl is the keyboard shifted over one letter for the right hand equivelant of Facebook. I noticed the .com domain is already registered which is a sign that this may be a somewhat common mistake.
Besides facebppl, a couple other common, but strange ones might be: g,ao; or gpp;e or fppf;w or even uajpp.
I appreciate your patience in reading this weird post. I’ll report back on the stats later.

yes, I have hit this numerous times, not be cause of keyboard difference, but because of sloppy typing.

I just did it too!! I typed in Facebppl instead of facebook. I never knew the keyboards were a little different. That explains my frustration when I type at work!

you’re not the only one who thought of this for facebook typo’s. There is another site established called faebook.com

Hello, no typo from me, I was given the link URL from a friend who found this and thought it was interesting. I’d imagine over time, more will visit this site deliberately than from typographical error.

WOW I FEEL DUMB. I typed this instead of facebook on google and then hit “I’m feeling Lucky.” In my defense, I totally wasn’t paying attention to what I was typing. This is kind of a cool idea!

Umm, WTF? Not sure how this happened. I have both a Mac (iMac) and a PC laptop and use both every day. But got to this site by typing Faceppl accidentally … on the PC.

Just did it myself, but I use a Microsoft ergonomic split keyboard on a PC. Usually I’m ticked off when I do something stupid like get my hands off the home keys. This morning I was mildly amused… I too typed faceppl accidentally on the PC.

I was trying to get to facebook too, so I guess you’re right on. I dont have a mac, but I did get a new keyboard for my PC. WOW, tons of people left comments saying the same thing “I’m trying to get to facebook too. No mac, just retarded

Just using an ordinary PC keyboard, but it’s under the desk - my mistake, but so glad to learn that others make the same one!
